  • Organization Information

    Rho Kappa is a Social Studies Honor Society and is the only national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the field of Social Studies.

    Students will attend meetings, coordinate service projects, and work events throughout the school year.

    Admission Guidelines

    • Applicants must have at least an overall 3.0 (86%) GPA.
    • Applicants must have at least a Social Studies 3.7 (90%) GPA.
    • Applicants must submit a copy of their transcript with their application.
    • Applicants must fully complete the student membership application form and submit it to Mr. Miranda in Room A238.
    • Applicants must pay the application fee (do not pay until you have the acceptance letter):
      • $25 fee for new applicants.
      • $10 fee for returning members.
    • Applicants must have at least one letter of recommendation (or signature on the application form) from a Social Studies faculty member at Champion High School.
    • Applicants must have taken at least 4 Semesters of Social Studies Courses.
    • Applicants must have taken at least one Honors, AP, or Dual Credit course.
    • Applicants must submit their application by Friday–September 27, 2024.

    Rules and Expectations

    • Applicants must keep at least an overall 3.0 (86%) GPA throughout membership
    • Applicants must keep at least a Social Studies 3.7 (90%) GPA throughout membership
    • Applicants must attend at least 75% of meetings in the school year
    • Applicants must have accumulated at least 10 hours of service within the Champion High School Rho Kappa Social Studies National Honor Society by the deadline (near the end of the school year).

    Graduation Cords Requirement

    Students who meet all organization requirements and are a member of the Rho Kappa Social Studies National Honor Society during their graduation year will receive graduation cords from the Rho Kappa club. Requirements to receive the graduation cords will be provided during club meetings. Students who do not meet all requirements will not receive graduation cords.
