Robotics meetings in the fall are Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00 pm. Our purpose is to inspire students to be science and technology leaders and innovators by engaging them through the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Our team, The Rocketteers, is in its 4th year. Our competition season will start at the beginning of January when FIRST reveals the new game challenge. We will have 8 weeks to brainstorm, prototype, test and build our robot. This process is exciting and allows students to gain a great number of skills. Students learn CAD, programming, electrical, how to use multiple tools as well as 3D printing and laser cutting. In our offseason, which we are currently in, our team creates small projects where students lead teams to increase their building and brainstorming skills. We encourage more than just engineering and STEM students to join. Our team uses business and finance, marketing, art and photography within our club.
