Mrs. Scharnhorst

This is Mrs. S's 6th year at Champion High School, but her first year teaching Forensic Science exclusively. She had previously taught Honors Chemistry. She is passionate about science and how discovery in the science classroom translates into skills important for success outside the classroom: exploration, critical thinking, and problem-solving through collaboration. Her goal is for students to use these skills to analyze information, ask questions, and solve the problems they will encounter in class and beyond. 
Originally from Virginia, Mrs. S moved to Texas with her family in 2011. She & her husband Ed have 2 boys, Max (25), a mechanical engineer, and James (22), a welder & fabricator.
