This year will begin my 26th year in Education. There is no greater place to be than in the field of Education, working with students, teachers, and families. I have served as a Teacher, Vice Principal, Principal, and most recently as a Director. This July my husband, Cole and ,I, are celebrating 25 years of marriage. We have two beautiful and thriving children, Trystan, 22, and Nicholas, 19. I believe in hard work, positive collaboration, and ensuring that every child and teacher learns and grows every day.I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Champion High School team of inspiring students, teachers, staff and families! I look forward to building strong relationships and continuing to grow and learn with you all in this new school year. -

Mr. Hiett has been married to his beautiful wife, Justine, for over 13 years and has three children: Greyson (6), and Adaline and Kanan (16-month-old twins).

He taught in San Antonio ISD for 13 years. Ten of these years were spent at St. Philip's College Early College High School as one of the first founding teachers and transitioning into the assistant principal role for the past 7 years. Mr. Hiett is most excited about helping the Cyber Security PTECH program at Champion HS reach the highest levels of recognition possible through the development of the program given the experiences he has with early college programs.

Brittney Walker was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Texas at El Paso. She earned her Masters in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University and has been in education for 15 years, serving as an English teacher, Cheer Coach, and Administrator. Mrs. Walker is relocating to Boerne from Houston with her husband, Roddray Walker, and their two daughters, Marley and Lena. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and solving puzzles. She is most looking forward to meeting the students and staff and jumping in to help continue the tradition of excellence at Champion High School.

Mrs. Haben is thrilled to return to BISD as an Assistant Principal for Champion High School. Mrs. Haben previously taught 5th, 4th, and 2nd grades at Fair Oaks Ranch and Van Raub Elementary Schools. During her time at BISD, Mrs. Haben served as a leader on her campus through various district initiatives and received the honor of Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Haben continued her career as an Academic Coach and High School Assistant Principal to gain various experiences.Mrs. Haben holds a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a master's in English as a Second Language. She is currently attending Abilene Christian University, pursuing her Ed. D. in Organizational Leadership. She is dedicated to being a lifelong learner and pursuing her passion for excellence in education.Mrs. Haben and her husband, Paul, live in the Spring Branch/Bulverde. They own and operate a fitness gym with their son Josiah.
Mrs. Haben looks forward to dedicating herself to the BISD community as a Champion Charger. She is ready to serve with passion and lead with excellence. -

Mark Burgess began his career in education 15 years ago in Warwick, Rhode Island where he received a bachelor's degree in history from Rhode Island College. He moved to Texas in 2011 and served as a special education teacher, first with a charter school and then with Judson ISD's Kirby Middle School as a 6-8th grade English and special education teacher. Once he acquired his master's degree in administrative leadership from Trinity University, he began his career in educational leadership, first with SAISD as an assistant principal at Brewer Academy, then with Kipp Un-Mundo where he served as the SPED lead. He then has held the position as assistant principal for special populations at KIPP Somos Collegiate for the past 4 years.
Mark has been married for 18 years and has four children including the two youngest who attend Boerne ISD schools. -

Mr. Clayton is a graduate of Texas State University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration Leadership from Sul Ross State University in 2016.
Coach Clayton began has career in education at The Colony High School where he taught special education and coached football and power lifting. He and his family moved to Yoakum ISD and then Bastrop ISD where he taught social studies and continued to coach, before arriving in Boerne ISD in 2012. He has served as a social studies teacher, football and soccer coach, and sponsor of the Bass and Lacrosse clubs.
He and his wife Erin (who is a BISD teacher) have three children: daughter Casey, 2017 Champion graduate and 2022 Texas Tech graduate; son Mason, a current Champion student; and son Riley, who currently attends Voss.

Campus Behavior Coordinator

Under the requirements of Senate Bill 107, 84th legislature, TEC 37.0012, each campus must have a staff member designated as the Campus Behavior Coordinator. As a District of Innovation, BISD has opted to designate each administrator as a campus behavior coordinator.
