Mrs. Kallie Cheves

Kallie Cheves is a mother, artist, and art educator who lives in Boerne, Texas with her husband, Brandon, and 2 sons, Orion and Cyrus. She received her B.A. in Studio Art from Trinity University and her M.F.A. in Studio Art from UTSA. She has exhibited her artwork extensively in Texas, nationally, and in Cork, Ireland. Her art involves photographic installations that hold deep roots in surrealism. Cheves also writes and illustrates children’s picture books using hand-cut photographic paper. She enjoys weaving science with myth and lore to encourage social-emotional conversations between people.

Kallie Cheves has been teaching art to pre-kindergarten through undergraduate levels since 2014. She is most looking forward to guiding her former Voss Middle School and new students along their visual arts journeys at Champion High School, where she was a member of the inaugural class. 

Above all, she believes that art elicits empathy, helping everyone better understand each other and achieve compassion. Her aim as an art educator is to help students learn this power and wield it into acts of kindness and purpose far beyond her classroom.
