Mrs. Andrea Plata

Mrs. Plata is excited to be teaching Precalculus and AP Precalculus this year.

Mrs. Plata is going into her 10th year of teaching (4.5 in Boerne). Her husband transferred to Boerne in November 2020, and she moved to Boerne in February 2021, just in time for Snowmageddon. Before coming to Boerne ISD, she was in Rio Hondo ISD for 1.5 years and Horizon Montessori Public Schools for 4 years.

Prior to becoming a teacher, Mrs. Plata attended the University of South Dakota on a scholarship for tennis but tore her ACL. She then attended Schreiner University for a year before transferring to Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she completed her degree. While attending NWU, she started coaching at a tennis center in Lincoln, which is where she found her love for teaching. When she moved back to Texas, she pursued her teaching certification.

When she is not teaching, you can find Mrs. Plata drawing, lifting weights in her garage gym, out on a hike/paddleboarding, or at home with her husband and their four dogs: Roxy (Rhodesian ridgeback/pit mix), Chunk (golden retriever), Yzma (lab), and Stitch (French Bulldog).
