• Make SAFETY a priority! A lab setting and/or industrial kitchen is fun (but it can be very dangerous). Wear a mask at all times when not able to social distance.
• Actively participate in class activities, projects, and discussions.
• Respect yourself, your classmates, your teacher, and school property at all times.
• Try your best! Your continued effort goes a long way.

Grading Policy

In accordance with BISD  Career and Technical Education grading policy, our grading policy will be as follows…

50% - Minor Grades (Daily Assignments, Labs)

50% - Major Grades (Tests, Cooking Exams)

Absence Policy

When a student is absent, it is their responsibility to check the DAILY AGENDA on Google Classroom. On the Classwork tab, visit the “Daily Agendas & Important Documents” section. Students will have 7 DAYS to make up any missing assignments or tests that were missed due to an absence. Paper copies of missed work will be available to students upon request. 

Late Work Policy

As per district policy,  an assignment turned in after the communicated deadline may earn a maximum grade of 70%. After two days, their maximum grade is 50%. After three class days, the student will receive a zero on the assignment. 

Test Correction Policy

A student will have the opportunity to complete test corrections if the student receives a grade lower than 70% on a written exam. The student will have 1 week after the test grade has been entered in Skyward. It is the student’s responsibility to communicate, complete, & return test corrections in a timely manner. 

Google Classroom

In efforts to clearly communicate with students, I utilize Google Classroom. This system allows me to post announcements & reminders of deadlines/tests/important dates and pass along helpful documents/videos. It is a great communication tool! Students will be expected to join my Google Classroom and will be given the class code in class & on the class syllabus. *Please be mindful to only join the google classroom of the period you have Culinary Arts class*
