Mrs. Amy Bowden

This is Mrs. Bowden’s fifth year at BMSS, the last four years as a Teaching Assistant in Life Skills and then Inclusion in the social studies and science classrooms.  After deciding last year to pursue her teaching certification in social studies, she has the wonderful privilege to be teaching 6th grade World Cultures this year.

Mrs. Bowden is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico and attended Eastern New Mexico University where she played basketball and graduated with a Bachelors in Business. After running her own sales business for five years, she met her husband and settled in Pipe Creek, Texas. There she raised and homeschooled their eight children. After graduating five, she transitioned their last three into Boerne Champion High School including their special needs daughter Olivia, who is a sophomore there currently.  This began a new chapter for her in public education and a love for middle schoolers!

Mrs. Bowden loves spending time with her family of 23 (and counting!):  husband of 31 years Larry, eight children, three amazing son-in-laws and ten grandchildren. She loves sports, being outdoors and anything history.  She is active in the special needs community with her daughter Olivia.
