Mrs. Darcy K. Hobby

Darcy Hobby has served as an educator for over 24 years and loves teaching middle school!  She strives to challenge her students to critical and independent thinking, but ultimately hopes to encourage them to lead lives of integrity, character, responsibility and service. Darcy graduated from Baylor University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a minor in English. She began her career teaching 4th and 5th grade Reading/ELA.  After spending 8 years at home with her children, she returned to the classroom and has taught middle school for the past 12 years in BISD.  Darcy has served in various service and leadership capacities including BMSS Chess Club Sponsor, Your Future, Your Choice/Whole Child committee, ELA curriculum writing, TELPAS rater, and UIL co-sponsor. She is a student mentor with HCDB "Stand by Me" Mentoring, a member of Texas Association for Literacy Education, AVID Instructional Practices educator, and National Junior Honor Society Chapter Adviser.

On a personal note, she is happily married to her college sweetheart, Tim, and has two adult children. When she is not teaching, Darcy loves reading historical fiction, being outside in nature, serving in her church and community, and spending time with her family.
