Academic UIL is open to all students in grades 6-8 who meet the eligibility requirements set by UIL.

Academic UIL is an organization that promotes the cultivation and progression of academic skills and good sportsmanship. Participants get to compete and have fun in a friendly atmosphere against students from other schools. Participants can participate in the following events: Modern Oratory, Impromptu Speaking, Poetry, Prose, Mathematics, Number Sense, Calculator, Spelling, Dictionary Skills, Science, Maps, Charts, and Graphs, Listening Skills, Social Studies, Ready Writing, Editorial Writing, and Art.
