Mrs. Laura Paulsen

This is Mrs. Paulsen's second year at Van Raub but her first year teaching 5th Grade ELAR/ SS. She attended Pittsburg State University for Early Child Development then received her Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Educational Studies from WGU. For the past 13 years, she has taken on many different roles in education with the most recent being a Registered Behavior Therapist in the greater San Antonio area. 

Mrs. Paulsen moved from Paola, Kansas to Texas in 2015 with her husband of 14 years, daughter, two dogs, one cat and a hamster. In her free time she enjoys family adventures, home improvement projects, baking, eating and various creative arts. 

Mrs. Paulsen knows the importance of teaching the curriculum along with encouraging persistence, active problem-solving, promoting empathy and kindness while making sure students feel safe and loved so they can truly thrive.
