Mr. Michael Joannou

Mr. Joannou has been teaching in Boerne ISD since August 2017 and has been the Instruction Coach at Herff Elementary since the start of the 2020 school year. He graduated from Enfield Grammar School, London, England, and earned his degree in Education at Middlesex University. In 2020, Mr. Joannou earned a Masters in Education Administration from Lamar University. He spent 3 years teaching in England before emigrating to Texas. Prior to teaching Mr. Joannou worked as an Attendance Officer and Learning Mentor, specializing in working with children who have social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.

Mr. Joannou enjoys teaching early years and has a passion for igniting a love for learning amongst young children, whilst making the learning process fun and exciting. He also enjoys integrating new technology into his lessons.

Mr. Joannou has been married to his wife Chelsea since 2016. She is a Boerne Graduate (Go Greyhounds!) They have lived in Boerne together since 2018 and have a puppy named Brisket.
