Mrs. Laura Paulsen

This is Mrs. Paulsen's second year at Van Raub, but her first year teaching 5th Grade ELAR/Social Studies. She began her educational journey at Pittsburg State University, focusing on Early Childhood Development, and later earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Educational Studies from WGU. Over the past 13 years, she has embraced various roles in education, most recently serving as a Registered Behavior Therapist in the greater San Antonio area.

Mrs. Paulsen moved to Texas in 2015 with her husband of 14 years, their daughter, two dogs, a cat, and a hamster. In her free time, she enjoys family adventures, archery, home improvement projects, baking delicious treats, and engaging in various creative arts.

Mrs. Paulsen is passionate about teaching not only the curriculum, but also fostering persistence, active problem-solving, empathy, and kindness. She believes in creating a safe and loving environment where students can truly thrive.
