Mrs. Melissa Monaghan-Lopez

Mrs. Monaghan-Lopez is so excited to teach Music at Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary!

She graduated from UTSA in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Music Education, and also Graduated in 2021 with a Master’s in Music Education. She has taught elementary music for 10 years, and this will be her first year at FORES. She is the Treasurer for the Central Texas Chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association. Using a play based approach, students learn through imitation, experimentation, and personal expression, which occur naturally as students become confident, life-long musicians and creative problem solvers.

Her goal for the Mustang Music program is to create a collaborative classroom community where everyone can be successful, and the best version of themselves. In her free time, she loves to garden and spend time outdoors, play with her dog, Murphy and spend time with family.
