Dr. Kristin Craft was named Superintendent of Boerne ISD in December 2023 and is the first female Superintendent in the district's history.
Dr. Craft began teaching in 1995 as a 4th grade teacher at Aldine ISD. With over 28 years of experience in Texas public schools, Dr. Craft was a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal. She spent 20 years serving in district leadership roles, including 12 years as a principal. Dr. Craft was a principal at every level, rising from elementary to intermediate to high school.
Before beginning her tenure at Boerne ISD, Dr. Craft served as Associate Superintendent of Academics and Chief Academic Officer in Spring Branch ISD in the Houston area, where she oversaw academic programming, student support, post-secondary outcomes, guidance counseling, responsive services, assessment, and accountability for 46 schools serving 33,536 students in grades PK-12.
Dr. Craft earned a Doctorate of Education and Master of Education in Educational Administration from Sam Houston State University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa, majoring in Spanish and minoring in TESOL.
Raised in Webster City, Iowa, Dr. Craft realizes the uniqueness of the Boerne community and the importance of maintaining the small-town feel we all love. She has been a proud Texas resident since 1995. Dr. Craft and her husband, Chris, have three children; Caitlin, Aron, and Carson.
