Boerne Community Leadership Academy
  • The Boerne ISD Community Leadership Academy is open to citizens who wish to build their understanding of Boerne ISD. 

    This program consists of five, half-day sessions from October to March during the 2024-2025 school year. The agendas for these sessions will include tours of campus and district facilities and opportunities to visit with school board members, administrators, and staff. Each session will take place in the Boerne ISD Board Room, 235 Johns Road, and will begin at 8:00 AM and conclude by 1:30 PM.

    The session dates* for the Community Leadership Academy are:

    • Tuesday, October 1, 2024
    • Wednesday, November 20, 2024
    • Saturday, January 25, 2025
    • Wednesday, February 12, 2025
    • Tuesday, March 4, 2025

    Objectives of this academy are:

    1. Participants will learn about the Board of Trustees' role in making Boerne ISD fiscally and academically exceptional.
    2. Participants will learn about district operations and the impact thereof on the education of students.
    3. Participants will learn about Boerne ISD programs and curriculum that are chosen to support students academically.

    Examples of topics to be covered in the program:

    • Boerne ISD budgeting and expenditure procedures;
    • Student and staff safety programs and protocols;
    • Boerne ISD whole-child approach to the educational experience;
    • Biliteracy programs in Boerne ISD; and
    • College and career readiness including Career and Technical Education opportunities for students.

    This academy is free and open to those who reside in or own/operate a business or organization within the boundaries of the Boerne ISD.

    The application opens on June 1, 2024, and closes on September 1, 2024.
