Olivia Wehrung is delighted to join the Boerne ISD as head choir director at both BMSN and BMSS! For Ms. Wehrung, choir is more than just an elective or a job. Choir is a tool for self expression, and she works hard to make her choir room a safe space for all students in all parts of their choral journey. She believes that anyone can sing, but choir is so much more than just singing. Choir is a great place to learn skills in leadership, organization, teamwork, and so much more. Throughout the year, concerts serve as demonstrations of the technical skills students acquire and the musicianship that the ensembles and individual singers develop. Choir is a team sport!

Ms. Wehrung holds a Master of Arts degree in Teaching and a Bachelor of Music degree in Choral Music Education from Trinity University in San Antonio. She holds professional affiliations with the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA). She is an active choral singer in the San Antonio Choral Society. Throughout her education and career, she has performed in various locations around the world, including New York City, Hong Kong, and China. She is excited to share her passion for music and all it has to offer with her students and the Boerne community.

Ms. Wehrung is originally from Houston. When she is not teaching, Ms. Wehrung enjoys experimenting with new recipes, reading, spending time outdoors, and cheering on the Houston Astros!
