Graduation 2024 is right around the corner. Boerne ISD celebrates its graduates at commencement ceremonies each year. In addition to the traditional cap and gown regalia, cords, stoles and tassels may also be worn to signify academic achievement, service in a branch of the US military, or participation in school-recognized organizations. The following groups and organizations are recognized and approved by Boerne ISD for specific graduation regalia:
- National Academic Honor Societies
- Military Branches of Service
- University Interscholastic League
BISD also accepts requests for honor cords, tassels, or stoles that represent curricular achievement, extracurricular achievement, or merit in community service through a 501c3 community service organization.
All regalia not listed must be approved in order to be worn at graduation. All graduation cords, stoles, or other approved regalia must be purchased by the organization providing the cord/stole or the student who is approved to wear them. Requests for exceptions to the established graduation dress code or approved regalia were accepted through March 15, 2024. For a complete list of BISD's approved academic regalia, please see this link.
