Boerne ISD Names 2024 District Rookie Teacher, Support Staff of the Year

SSOY ROYMarch 26, 2024- The Boerne Independent School District is proud to announce that Fabra Elementary School 5th grade Teacher Sydney Lenard has been named the 2024 District Rookie Teacher of the Year, while Champion High School Principal’s Secretary Bridget Brown has been named 2024 District Support Staff of the Year. The announcements were made at the March 25 BISD Board of Trustees Meeting. Both winners will receive additional stipends from Boerne ISD.

District Rookie Teacher of the Year Sydney Lenard is in her third year as a 5th Grade Math and Science teacher at Fabra Elementary, which is her first teaching job. She grew up in Boerne, attending Boerne Middle School North and graduating from Champion High School. 

Ms. Lenard graduated from Texas A&M University, where she majored in Elementary Education. 

District Support Staff of the Year Bridget Brown is in her second year as the Principal’s Secretary at Champion High School. In her 30-plus year education career, she was twice named the Georgia State Teacher of the Year, in 1998 and 2016. Prior to joining Boerne ISD, she served as Principal, Assistant Principal, and Instructional Coach.

BISD previously announced the 2024 District Teacher of the Year and Runner Up, Champion High School’s Robert Kolar (Teacher of the Year) and Boerne Middle School South’s Jordan  Moellendorf (Runner-Up).
