For the first time, the Texas Education Agency assigned letter grades to Texas districts because of a new law passed by the 85th Texas Legislature.
House Bill (HB) 22 established three domains for measuring the academic performance of districts and campuses: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps. Districts are assigned a rating from A through F, for overall performance, as well as for performance in each domain.
Boerne Independent School District received an overall grade of “A” in this first year of the rating system.
The district received numeric grades for each campus that ranged from 93 to 83, but individual campus letter grades will not be applied by the TEA until August of 2019.
